One of the most fun ways to get a peek into another person’s life is to experience their city like a local would -- with a homebase in a their space. LifeSwap takes the fun of living how a stranger does one step further. We’ve teamed up with AirBnB to give you a taste of what it’s like to step into someone else’s shoes. We can safely say that this is the best giveaway of any SXSW party around.
Because of COVID-19 and the impact it has had on our entire organization, particularly our women engineers, we decided to do something a little bit different this year for International Women in Engineering Day.
We asked our women engineers to share with us the essence of their 'new normal,' and in turn, we would help them capture one specific image and picture that best depicts their life nearly 120 days into a completely distributed team (and shelter in place) environment brought on by coronavirus. Each photo was taken via Zoom, which offered us a window into the lives of our women engineers. All photos were taken by Paula 'Pope' Fernandez, a visual designer based in Argentina.
The result is this photo exhibit, an arresting mosaic that demonstrates how Cognizant Softvision women engineers work, how they play, how they teach, how they cope, and how they take care of themselves and their families during these difficult times.
This photo exhibit will continue to evolve and expand beyond INWED2020, capturing pictures and images of our new normal.
Visual Designer, Global Marketing.
Pope has been working at Cognizant Softvision since 2018, and embraces the opportunity to collaborate with her global colleagues. But it took a global pandemic for her to get to know, in her words, 'so many cool people on a different level, all from the comfort of my sofa, and through the lens of my camera.'
An experienced music photographer and designer, each image from Pope tells the story of a 'new normal' ... new spaces, new activities, new routines, and even new "co-workers."
She hopes you enjoy the pictures as much as she did working on this project, and can't wait to see the program evolve.
